PFA meets with British Envoy for trade talks
![]() PFA executives, led by Chairman Emeritus Mr. Samie Lim and Vice Chairman Ms. Bing Sibal-Limjoco, met with Mr. Eamonn Staunton, Senior Country Manager of the UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) as part of his series of consultations with trade policy decision-makers in the country. Accompanied by Ms. Joyce Guzon, Trade and Investment Manager of the UKTI-Manila, Mr. Staunton and the PFA officers discussed possible areas of opportunities where PFA and the British Embassy could work together in the promotion of bilateral relations between the two countries, and in the fostering of trade, particularly in the area of franchising. Mr. Lim acknowledged the British Embassy’s constant support to the Association, citing that just last year, UKTI, through the British Embassy Manila, partially funded PFA’s trade mission to London. The 2009 London initiative opened doors for the creation and development of a “Manila-London Bridge,” where trade, particularly in the overseas expansion of franchises, can be facilitated between UK and the Philippines. Present during the meeting were (from left) Ms. Guzon, Mr. Lim, Mr. Staunton, Ms. Limjoco, and PFA Executive Director Ms. Chit Estrada. |
