![]() Guam First Lady Joann G. Camacho, accompanied by representatives from the Guam Economic Development Authority (GEDA), met with Philippine Franchise Association (PFA) chairman emeritus Samie Lim and vice-chairman Bing Sibal-Limjoco to discuss business opportunities between Guam and the Philippines through PFA. The First Lady, wife of Guam Governor Felix P. Camacho, talked of abundant investment prospects for Philippine franchise brands and concepts and other businesses across various industries – including tourism, education, construction, retail and professional services – owing to the impending Guam Buildup, or the transfer of the U.S. military bases from Okinawa, Japan to Guam by 2014. Ms. Camacho also discussed the possibility of staging a trade expo highlighting franchising opportunities as she cited Guam’s trade incentive programs and the island’s geographical proximity to the Philippines.
