1st Western Visayas Franchise Seminar & Expo set in Roxas City
ROXAS CITY, Capiz, April 8 (PIA6) -- The Philippine Franchise Association (PFA) will hold the 1st Western Visayas Franchise Seminar and Expo at the El Circulo Convention in Pueblo de Panay here on April 19 to help its members expand in the regional areas and encourage region-based businesses to use franchising as a strategy for growth.
The upcoming activity, part of the PFA’s second quarter regional franchise shows, in partnership with the Joint Chambers of Commerce – Capiz (JCC-C) hopes to encourage region-based entrepreneurs to take the franchising route in reproducing their business without putting too much strain on their resources.
It is also in support to the government’s collaborative campaign particularly by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the country’s franchise sector together with the local chambers of commerce against the proliferation of franchise scams.
“Franchising is basically the duplication of a successful business,” noted PFA president Yvette Pardo-Orbeta.
“When you get a franchise, you virtually remove the trial and error phase associated in starting your own business. This is the reason why franchising has a very high success rate compared with traditional start ups,” she explained.
The day-long seminar will introduce the fundamentals as well as the advantages of getting a franchise as a route to entrepreneurship and will reveal the benefits of franchising as a strategy in growing one’s business by using other people’s time, resources and networks.
Resource speakers during the seminar are uFranchise vice-president for marketing Roel Perez and Francorp Philippines strategic planning consultant Jerome Alvarez who will present an overview of the Philippine franchising sector as well as the doors of opportunities it offer and How to Franchise Your Business, respectively.
Seminar participants will be presented with information on why franchising has become the most favored strategy in expanding a business and how successful Mirco Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) can use the strategy to expand regionally, nationally and even globally.
Seminar fee that will cover snacks and lunch is P1,500 for those who will pay on or before April 12 while those who will register on April 13 onwards and on-site will pay P1,800.
A number PFA members of franchise brands that include Bread and Butter, Crystal Clear, Fruit Magic, Julie’s Bakeshop, Magic Melt, Minute Burger, Waffle Time and Xcess Salon will present their franchise and investment packages to prospective franchisees.
Orbeta also noted that PFA members adhere to the Fair Franchising Standards which is a code of ethics that promotes fairness and transparency in all business dealing.
Participants will be also presented financing strategies by the BPI Family Savings Bank and technological tools to help MSMEs more competitive by the PLDT SME Nation.
The seminar will cap with a business matching session.
Interested participants may contact the PFA Secretariat at telephone numbers (632) 687-0365 to 67 or (63917) 832-0732, e-mail
